Annie received her Bachelor’s degree in Communication-Public Relations from North Carolina State University and completed her Master’s in Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate (LCSWA), Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCASA), and therapist at Matone Counseling Charlotte.
Annie has experience working with adolescents and adults who are experiencing problems related to anxiety, depression, problematic substance use, adjustment and life transitions, interpersonal strain, and self-esteem. She focuses on creating a welcoming space for clients in order to build trusting, collaborative relationships.
Annie’s therapeutic style is warm, flexible, and client-centered. She draws from various modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy, motivational interviewing, acceptance and commitment therapy, and supportive therapy. Annie is passionate about helping clients to see the strengths they already possess and grow in self-compassion.
