Asha English, Counseling Intern
Asha English is currently a graduate student at Northwestern University working towards her Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Hampton University in 2021. As an intern at Matone Counseling and Testing Asha’s therapeutic style is based on creating a safe, welcoming, and collaborative space for her clients.
Asha uses a combination of Person-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and Play Therapy in her work with clients. She has experience working with anxiety, depression, life transitions, self-esteem, autism, and race-based issues. Asha practices with compassion, empathy, and acceptance. She is passionate about working with children, adolescents, and young adults with their mental health needs. Asha specifically aims to assist her clients better understand themselves, develop practical coping skills, as well as maintain and strengthen interpersonal relationships.
