Janelle is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Therapist and Board Approved Clinical Supervisor in North Carolina. Beginning her clinical career in Ohio, Janelle graduated from the University of Akron in December of 2005 with a Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy and has practiced in North Carolina as an LCMHC since 2015.

Janelle’s areas of specialty include anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress/growth, life transitions, couples/pre-marital therapy, women’s issues, family systems/generational trauma, adolescent mental health, career/lifestyle issues, and identity issues. Her experience has included extensive training in evidence-based and trauma-informed practices including Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and family systems approaches. Janelle is also passionate about the mind-body-spirit connection and utilizes a wellness-based model that is holistic in nature with individuals. She incorporates reflective exercises, mindfulness approaches and guided visualization techniques to assist her clients in learning to tune into and trust their own truth and intuition and heal unresolved emotional wounds.

Janelle’s philosophy of care is rooted in the belief that individuals possess more strength and resiliency than they can often easily recognize. Janelle sees her role as that of an empowering, collaborative partner on her clients’ personal journey of healing, self-exploration, and growth. She seeks to understand her clients’ unique strengths, as well the complex factors that have contributed to their current challenges, to build upon their capacity for resilience and empowerment. She supports her clients in discovering the solutions that are right for them so that they can improve their overall quality of life in a sustainable way. Janelle feels very grateful to be able to do the work she loves every day and make a difference in the lives of the clients she serves.
