Amanda is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) and prospective Registered Play Therapist at Matone Counseling and Testing. She received her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
As a clinician, Amanda is passionate about working with children ages 2-11 through the power of child-centered play therapy to promote healing, strengthen development, and enhance family functioning. Amanda also enjoys working with early adolescents ages 11-14 from a person-centered and solution focused approach to navigate social and emotional disruptions that coincide with development.
Amanda’s therapeutic approach is designed to help children and early adolescents develop the necessary skills needed for self-regulation, increased self-esteem, and improved decision making abilities. Amanda understands that many factors play a role in one’s mental health, meaning every individuals path towards growth is unique and complex. Amanda considers these factors and welcomes clients from all backgrounds, orientations, and identities. She looks forward to joining you on your mental health journey!
