Sophie May (she/her) is a graduate student on the child and adolescent counseling track through Lock Haven University. She has her undergraduate degree in psychology through Ursinus College and is currently pursuing a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. Sophie has a lot of experience working with children, both in the mental health field, as well as the world of teaching. She has been employed as a swim instructor, a psychiatric technician at a hospital, as well as a behavioral technician at an ABA clinic for children with autism.
Sophie primarily applies a person-centered, solution-focused approach with her clients in the counseling room. She finds herself gravitating toward this orientation because of the optimism and strength that it encourages for clients. However, Sophie also has experience implementing a variety of practices and her overall goal is to foster the most trusting and comfortable environment for her clients.
Sophie is fairly new to the Charlotte area after growing up in Southeastern Pennsylvania. She enjoys being active with friends, traveling whenever possible, cooking, and tending to her plants.
