Jess Minieri (they/she) is a graduate intern currently earning their Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Western Carolina University. They received their bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Auburn University. Jess is passionate about working with adolescents and adults navigating concerns related to identity, trauma, depression, and substance use. As a member of the LGBTQ+ community, they are committed to creating a space that is affirming, inclusive, and grounded in respect for each client’s lived experience.
Jess practices trauma-informed, evidence-based therapy and draws from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and motivational interviewing (MI) to support clients in aligning their lives with their values. Their therapeutic approach is collaborative and problem-solving oriented, with a strong focus on empowerment, flexibility, and cultural responsiveness. Jess also has training in suicide risk assessment and prioritizes safety, validation, and transparency in their work with clients. They believe therapy should be a space where people feel genuinely understood and supported, and they strive to build relationships based on trust and authenticity.
Outside of the therapy room, Jess enjoys being in nature, engaging in creative expression (through creating art and baked goods), and staying active. They bring a thoughtful, grounded presence to their work and care deeply about helping clients move toward growth, self-understanding, and meaningful change.
