Maggie Timmerman, LCSW, LCASA
Maggie received both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Social Work at the University of Georgia. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist Associate (LCASA). Maggie will be practicing as a therapist at Matone Counseling in Charlotte.
Maggie primarily has experience working with adults and couples addressing a wide range of presenting concerns. Maggie walks alongside her clients and assists them with navigating challenges related to life adjustments and transitions, grief and loss, interpersonal issues, anxiety, depression, and substance use. She is also a LGBTQ+ affirming clinician who understands the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment for all clients.
Maggie’s therapeutic style is person-centered, non-judgmental, and strengths-based. Maggie believes that each client is unique which requires her approach to be flexible and tailored to the individual’s needs and preferences. She often pulls from techniques rooted in cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused CBT, motivational interviewing, solution focused therapy, psychodynamic, and acceptance and commitment therapy. Maggie is passionate about aiding her clients with recognizing their own resilience and strengths, and hopes to foster a space of self-compassion and healing.
