Maxine is a Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW) at Matone Counseling and Testing. She earned her Master’s in Social Work from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte and received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Marist College in New York.
Maxine provides a virtual space of safety and connection, open expression, autonomy, authenticity, and collaboration. With compassion and understanding, she works with each person to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing. She specializes in providing telehealth therapy for adolescents and adults (up to the age of 35) who are living with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma, and stress-related disorders, grief/bereavement, those facing stressors from life adjustments and transitions, and many more.
Maxine’s approach combines various techniques that draw upon internal family system (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), polyvagal therapy, attachment-based, and mindfulness. Her approach to individual therapy is eclectic and informed by the presented needs and situations of each person while using a trauma-informed lens.
