Patrice Sims (she/her) is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Associate and Licensed Clinical Addiction
Specialist Associate. She earned her master’s degree in social work from Western Carolina University in
2021. She has experience working with adults and older adolescents in inpatient, outpatient, and
community-based programs. Realizing that handling life on life’s terms is a challenge for all human
beings, Patrice believes seeking support for the more challenging obstacles is a sign of strength, not
weakness.
Patrice incorporates Cognitive Behavioral, Psychoanalytic, Humanistic, and Integrative or Holistic
modalities into her work. She also includes somatic, trauma-informed care in her work with clients. She
has supported clients to resolve fear, depression, suicidality, anxiety, grief, and substance use. Patrice
combines multiple modalities to provide treatments tailored to each client’s needs. Patrice and her
clients work together to resolve emotional and cognitive dissonance caused by life history while learning
tools and strategies to deal with challenges in the present.
When not at work, Patrice enjoys spending time with friends, being out in nature, walking her dogs,
listening to live music, and attending retreats for more intense self-reflection.
