Allan Day is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA) and National Certified Counselor (NCC) in North Carolina. He earned his Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, NC. With two years of clinical experience, Allan is dedicated to helping individuals navigate life’s challenges with greater self-understanding, resilience, and purpose. He believes that meaningful growth occurs within a therapeutic relationship built on trust, safety, authenticity, collaboration, and compassion.
Allan works with adults ages 18 and older who may be experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, life transitions, identity exploration, shame, relationship difficulties, and the impact of past or ongoing adversity. His approach is eclectic and tailored to each client’s unique needs, drawing from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Existential Therapy, Mindfulness practices, and Expressive Arts approaches. Allan is especially passionate about working with individuals who have felt marginalized, unseen, misunderstood, or disconnected from a sense of belonging. This includes people navigating systemic stress or experiences of exclusion in social, cultural, or institutional settings. He strives to create an affirming and supportive environment where clients can reconnect with their strengths, clarify their values, and cultivate a greater sense of agency as they move toward lives that feel more authentic, meaningful, and fulfilling.
Outside of the counseling office, Allan enjoys writing, dancing, hiking, biking, and exploring creative forms of self-expression. He is a lifelong musician, music enthusiast, and activist who appreciates the ways creativity, community, and personal values can contribute to healing, connection, and growth.
