Dr. Allison Comiskey is a postdoctoral psychologist who earned her Ph.D. and M.A. in Counseling Psychology from Texas Woman’s University. She began her education with a B.A. in Psychology from Texas Tech University and completed her predoctoral internship at Oregon State University, where she specialized in college student and young adult mental health.
Allison works with a broad range of concerns and has a particular interest in supporting individuals navigating identity development, life transitions, existential questions, and all types of relational concerns. She enjoys working with adults of all ages and is especially passionate about working with those in emerging and early adulthood, highly sensitive individuals, and perfectionists. Her therapeutic approach is collaborative, integrative, and relational, drawing from Relational-Cultural Therapy, Existential-Integrative Psychotherapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). She values client empowerment, seeks to create a space where clients feel deeply seen and heard, and brings attention to the broader cultural and social contexts that shape clients’ lived experiences, often through a feminist lens.
Outside of her clinical work, Allison is a professor at a small liberal arts college, where she teaches psychology and enjoys helping students explore vocational identity and purpose. In her free time, she loves being outdoors, reading cookbooks, experimenting in the kitchen, and spending time with her partner and beloved fur babies.
