Charlie is a Licensed Clinical Addictions Specialist and Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in the state of North Carolina. He has worked in the mental health profession since 2005 in a variety of clinical and supportive roles.

Charlie holds a Master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology from Naropa University and a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counseling from East Carolina University. He also completed graduate studies in addiction at the University of Minnesota–Twin Cities and is currently pursuing his Certified Sex Addiction Therapist credential through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals.

Throughout his career, Charlie has worked in diverse substance use and mental health treatment settings across the country, experiences that have shaped a flexible, individualized, and deeply relational counseling style. He believes no single therapeutic method works for everyone; instead, therapy is a collaborative process grounded in trust, authenticity, and long-term growth. Charlie values thoughtful and intellectually engaging conversations that help clients build insight, reconnect with their story, and create meaningful change across the many interconnected areas of life, including relationships, identity, work, health, and purpose.

Charlie works with emerging adults (21+), men who may struggle with emotional openness, and individuals navigating major life transitions such as retirement, new relationships, or chronic health conditions. He specializes in substance use concerns, co-occurring mental health challenges, and complex addiction patterns, with a strong emphasis on identifying the right harm reduction approach for each individual.

He is also an advocate for harm reduction within the psychedelic-assisted therapy space, offering consultation around adverse experiences and supporting clients in their own informed exploration. Charlie is especially excited to be developing a specialty in sex, love, and fantasy addiction, helping clients cultivate healthier patterns of intimacy, connection, and relating.

Outside of clinical work, Charlie is passionate about the outdoors, golf, building projects, and road trips across the country.
