Throughout my career, I have been amazed and inspired by the resilience of human beings through the most adverse experiences. We all possess an innate level of resilience, although sometimes we need help building it up and tapping into it. I am hopeful that we can work together to build your resilience to cope with hardships, overcome challenges, and navigate daily life in an empowering, healthy manner.
I graduated from Appalachian State University in 2019 with a Master’s in Social Work. I began my career in the Child Welfare system, serving children and families who faced abuse and neglect, poverty, substance abuse, domestic violence, and generational trauma. I later transitioned to school social work, with goals of increasing access to education for all students and connecting families to needed resources. I obtained my LCSW-A in 2022 to begin working as an outpatient mental health therapist.
I use an integrative approach while treating clients, drawing from CBT, motivational interviewing, supportive therapy, and mindfulness skills. I am also trained in TF-CBT, a specific modality to address traumatic experiences in children ages 3 to 18.
“I can be changed by what happens to me. But I refuse to be reduced by it.”
