Heather Veldhouse is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate and National Certified Counselor. She earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Northern Colorado and Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Family Life/Child Development from Minnesota State University.

Heather’s background includes 10 years of experience working with veterans and military members through the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs in administrative and outreach roles, bringing a trauma-informed lens and special interest in supporting those who have served. Her background in veteran services deepened her passion for creating a safe, respectful, and supportive space for clients.

Heather welcomes all individuals (18+) seeking support as they navigate life’s challenges and move toward meaningful goals. She takes a client-centered, collaborative, and holistic approach, using techniques that best fit each client’s unique needs. Depending on what is most helpful, she may draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Motivational Interviewing. Heather believes therapy should feel supportive, personalized, and grounded in each client’s strengths.

Outside of counseling, Heather enjoys hiking, live music, and traveling. She shares her life with her husband and cat, and both make her laugh every day.
