I hold a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) and master’s degree from Indiana State University in
Terre Haute, IN. I obtained my bachelor’s degree from The University of Texas at Austin. I
completed post-doctoral training at the VA Medical Center in Decatur, GA. I am currently
licensed in North Carolina and have previously held licenses in Georgia and Texas. I have been
engaged in the field since 2000.

I have practiced in community mental health centers, hospitals, youth schools, and owned
private practice. Prior to joining Matone, I worked for a federally qualified health center in
western North Carolina. I have experience in individual, family and couple psychotherapy as
well as psychological testing. Although I have worked with clients of all ages, I prefer to work
with clients over the age of 12. I have special training and experiencing working with CBT and
trauma focused CBT as well as specific diagnoses (OCD, major depression, anxiety disorder).

I am married and have three adult daughters as well as two dogs. I am a certified spin instructor
and enjoy staying active and healthy. My wife and I love sports and follow the major league
teams from my hometown, St. Louis, MO. I enjoy hiking, kayaking, and the beach.
