Kim Matone is the Co-Founder of Matone Counseling and Testing and a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC). She earned a Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Montreat College and a Bachelor’s degree in Child and Family Development from the University of Georgia.

Kim believes that everyone deserves a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where they can feel heard, understood, and accepted. She works with adolescents and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, relationship challenges, life transitions, co-dependency, mood disorders, and the impact of substance use disorders on individuals and families. Her goal is to build a genuine therapeutic relationship where clients feel comfortable being themselves while gaining the tools and confidence to navigate life’s challenges.

Kim has a special passion for supporting women through all stages of life, including relationship changes, marriage, career transitions, and parenthood. She is a member of Postpartum Support International (PSI) and has received specialized training in perinatal mental health. She enjoys working with individuals experiencing perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, as well as those coping with the loss of a pregnancy, infant, or child.

Kim uses a client-centered approach that incorporates mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Trauma-Focused CBT. She tailors therapy to each client’s unique needs and often integrates creative techniques, including art and music, into the counseling process.

In Kim’s free time, she enjoys traveling, exercising, spending time with family, and hanging out with her cat, Lemon. Kim is an entertainment and movie buff and enjoys hosting Matone Counseling & Testing’s Raindrops on Roses podcast.
