Kristin is a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate licensed in North Carolina. She attended the University of Colorado in Boulder where she majored in Psychology and graduated magna cum laude in 2007. Lived experience with mental health issues in her own life called her to pursue higher education. She received her Masters in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lenoir Rhyne University in Asheville, NC in 2017 and has been practicing since then. Her career in mental health started in 2014, and has focused on helping teens and their parents thrive through nature and mindfulness informed therapy. She has co-created a curriculum and workbook based on the Hero’s Journey to help weave a narrative structure around catastrophic life changes.
Kristin loves helping neurodivergent individuals from ages 9 through 55 settle into themselves and thrive authentically, especially those in the LGBTQ2S+ community. Kristin is a trans-affirming therapist who validates her clients experience and has years of experience guiding teens and their families through gender and sexuality journeys. Kristin particularly enjoys helping clients find peace and joy through DBT and mindfulness skills. She works to maintain a strong rapport and connection with her clients to create meaningful change in their lives and internal stories. She meets clients where they are at and approaches each client with a unique perspective, ultimately striving to help them become the most authentic version of themselves.
