Hi, I’m Megan Zeitouni, LCMHCA. I’m a first-generation Lebanese-American born and raised in Charlotte, NC. I hold a Master’s in Counselor Education with a focus in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Penn State University and am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate in North Carolina.
Before grad school, I worked for a year as a substance abuse counselor at Wilmington Treatment Center, where I supported individuals with co-occurring disorders through crisis intervention, group classes, and individual counseling. Since then, I’ve worked primarily with college students navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, and relationship concerns.
My main therapeutic orientation is cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), which focuses on identifying and reframing unhelpful thought patterns. I also integrate other approaches such as dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), gestalt, and person-centered therapy, depending on my client’s needs. I value cultural identity as a central part of treatment and believe in honoring the unique backgrounds and experiences each person brings to therapy.
My goal is to provide a safe, affirming space where clients feel heard, respected, and empowered. I approach therapy with empathy, validation, humor, and authenticity. I won’t tell you what to do– because you are the expert in your own life– but I’ll help you explore what’s right for you. After all, you’re the one living in your mind 24/7, so let’s work on making it a better place to be.
Outside of work, I enjoy time with family, friends, pets, working out, reading, advocating for causes I care about, and staying connected to my Lebanese heritage.
