Dr. Nina Cook is a Licensed Psychological Associate at Matone Counseling & Testing. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Wingate University in the small town of Wingate, North Carolina, just outside of Charlotte. She went on to complete both her first master’s degree in Military Psychology and her second master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at Adler University in Chicago, Illinois. Dr. Cook later earned her doctorate in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Military Psychology and Substance Abuse, also from Adler University. She completed her predoctoral internship at Western Carolina University in Cullowhee, North Carolina.
Dr. Cook provides both psychological assessment and therapy. She utilizes an integrative approach to testing and treatment, drawing from client-centered principles to ensure each session is tailored to the individual’s needs. Her therapeutic style blends Adlerian theory with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Humanistic–Existential approaches.
When she is not working, Dr. Cook enjoys spending time with her husband, family, and friends. While she prefers to avoid outdoor activities during the spring and summer months, she loves being outside in the winter. You can often find her visiting ice caves and ice castles, or snow tubing.
