Toni Terjesen moved from Long Island NY, to Charlotte NC in November 2022. Toni attended
Hofstra University and Fordham University throughout her college career, and has 4 college
degrees ranging from a BA in Psychology, and AS and MS ED in Education, and a MSW in Social
Work. Toni is currently licensed to practice social work in NC as an LCSWA, and in NY as an
LMSW. Toni has been practicing social work for 9 years, and has worked in the field of
education for over 20 years.
Toni was an intern at both a domestic violence, and sexual abuse agency in Long Island NY.
Since her internship, Toni has worked in both the school, and private practice setting. Toni’s
preferred age range for clients is 5 to 12, with adults in need of emotional support, and
parenting education. Toni has taken extensive continuing education courses in play therapy and
trauma treatment. Toni is trained and works with a variety of treatment modalities, including
play therapy, CBT and trauma focused therapy (i.e., IFS).
In Toni’s spare time, she likes to spend time with her husband and 2 children. Toni is an avid
reader and loves all things involving Fall, books and coffee. Toni’s ideal vacation spots would
include traveling throughout Europe and the Mediterranean (i.e., Paris, Italy, Greece, etc…), in
addition to very long extended stays on the beach. Toni does not currently have any pets, but is
looking to get a puppy (to be named FRODO…hopefully), in the near future.
