Q: What’s the difference between a co-pay and a deductible, and what does that mean for me?

A co-pay is a set dollar amount (for example: $20) that you pay at the time of your appointment as determined by your contract with your health insurance plan. A deductible is an amount set by your insurance company that has to be met prior to your coinsurance kicking in…. meaning you have to meet this deductible before your insurance will start making any payments.

Q: How much does therapy cost?

Like many things in life, the answer is that it depends... With insurance, the cost can be minimal. If you are paying out of pocket, it will generally range from $110.00 to $150.00 per session depending on the clinician you are working with. In some cases we can offer sliding scales. If finances are a serious concern, please ask about one of our interns who can provide quality care under the supervision of our clinical directors.

Q: Can I make session payments online?

Not on our website. We can take payments either in person or over the phone. We can send a PayPal invoice if you would like to make an online payment. Just email us at support@matonecounseling.com if you need an electronic invoice.

Q: How long and how often are therapy appointments?

Most of the time, therapy sessions are about 53 minutes long and occur weekly. However, for some clients different durations or frequencies of appointments may be warranted. The stage of treatment and severity level of concerns may impact how often sessions should be. Your clinician will work with you to determine the best course of treatment.
