Brandy Burns is a Clinical Psychology Masters student at Western Carolina University completing her practicum requirement at Matone Counseling and Testing.

Before returning to school for her MA in Clinical Psychology, Brandy received a BS in Psychology and a Master of Public Administration from Northern Michigan University. Brandy has extensive experience working in the field of intellectual/developmental disabilities in direct support, case/care management, program management, and quality/compliance. Brandy had always intended to return to school to obtain her advanced degree in psychology, and in 2021 found the perfect opportunity to do so. As part of her educational experience, Brandy is a scholar in Western Carolina University’s Project INTERACT. This program provides her with training and real-world opportunities to build skills for working on inter-collaborative teams with families who have children with autism and/or intellectual disabilities. Upon completion of her master’s degree, Brandy intends to continue her education and obtain a doctoral degree in Psychology.

While Brandy enjoys working with children and adults with autism and/or intellectual disabilities, she is excited to broaden her experience with different age ranges, needs, and approaches to treatment during her time at Matone.
