Katie is a Licensed Psychological Associate and Nationally Certified School Psychologist whose practice focuses exclusively on psychological/psychoeducational assessments. Katie received her bachelor’s degree from Gonzaga University in Spokane, Washington, and her Masters degree and Specialist degree from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, South Carolina.
Katie has extensive experience assessing early childhood development, cognitive processing strengths and weaknesses, adaptive skills, learning disabilities including dyslexia, social/emotional functioning, and behavioral challenges. Katie has a special interest in differential autism diagnosis, gifted assessment, and identifying learning differences that may be masked by giftedness (twice exceptional). Katie is also interested in working with adults whose challenges may have gone undiagnosed in childhood.
Whether you are a parent seeking to better understand your child’s academic struggles or developmental needs, or an adult looking to better understand yourself and the difficulties you experienced growing up, Katie is passionate about helping clients find answers and guide them towards the right supports. In addition to assessments, Katie is able to offer insight on navigating the IEP and 504 process in schools, as well as requests for accommodations in post-secondary academic and work settings.
Katie recognizes psychological testing can be an intimidating process that can evoke a range of emotions. She works closely with clients and families to ensure they feel seen and heard, providing a compassionate environment where questions are welcomed, concerns are addressed, and individual needs are prioritized.
